Construction Cost Estimator– Santa Fe Springs, CA
Troyer Contracting Company, Inc. is seeking a Construction Cost Estimator in Santa Fe Springs, California. This role involves conducting cost analyses, performing quantity takeoffs, and developing detailed cost estimates using advanced software. The qualified candidate will prepare shop drawings, review project plans, and manage construction budgets through predictive analysis. Responsibilities also include overseeing multiple projects, ensuring accurate cost projections, researching industry trends, and maintaining comprehensive cost records. Reports will be made to the Chief Operating Officer to help optimize estimate accuracy for future projects.

Worksite Location: 10122 Freeman Ave, Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670 (On-site)

Key Responsibilities:

• Explore bidding documentation to gain a comprehensive understanding of commercial project requirements (such as hotels, schools, mixed-use retail constructions) and utilize Bluebeam to perform quantity takeoffs for roofing, waterproofing, roof metal, and pedestal pavers.
• Conduct in-depth construction and pricing research using Taper plus to analyze labor, material, and time requirements.
• Apply civil engineering principles, advanced mathematical calculations, and analytical processes to develop detailed cost estimates, ensuring alignment with project feasibility.
• Use AutoCAD to generate detailed shop drawings for waterproofing, roofing, taper systems, pedestal pavers, and sheet metal, ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Develop and update construction budgets by reviewing project plans, identifying costs per new bulletin document, and leveraging cost models for predictive analysis.
• Oversee multiple projects using Procore, BIM 360, and ACC, collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate cost projections, mitigate risks, and maintain compliance with project timelines.
• Prepare and submit RFIs (Requests for Information) and submittals for awarded projects, ensuring alignment with construction plans and specifications.
• Maintain accurate cost records and documents, ensuring traceability of cost estimates to support project decision-making and record-keeping in company databases.
• Conduct post-project evaluations to assess estimate accuracy, optimize resource allocation, and improve cost-effectiveness for future projects.
• Report findings and analysis to the Chief Operating Officer on a monthly basis, providing cost assessment insights for ongoing and future projects.
  
  Qualifications:
  
  
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; AND
• 2 years of experience in the job offered or related construction cost estimating position.
  
  Salary: $55,598/year
